History
Since 2002, Nati Frinj has earned a reputation for bold, imaginative, and innovative art. What makes it even more remark-able is that this vibrant festival emerges from the small rural town of Natimuk—proving that big ideas can thrive in the most unexpected places.
Nati Frinj champions collaboration and creative exploration, offering a one-of-a-kind space where fresh ideas can take shape. Often serving as the first stage for groundbreaking work by both emerging and established artists. It pulses with the energy and talent of Natimuk’s creative community while drawing in creatives from across the country to connect, experiment, and create together.
And joy doesn’t stop there—the Frinj program bursts with colour, sound, and surprise. From the much-loved Opening Parade to a rich mix of visual art, performance, and music, the festival also offers culinary adventures, spontaneous hap-penings, playful art interventions, and, of course, plenty of dancing.
Past projects including Space and Place 2002, Lantunda 2009, Highly Strung 2011, Balance 2025, Swelter, and Dusk 2017, Bee Sharp Honeybee 2019, and Bamboo Exquisit 2022 have expanded the possibilities of artistic expression and have placed Nati Frinj at the forefront of artistic innovation in Australia.
