The Story of Becoming Nala

“Becoming Nala” is a digital short film led by First Nations artists on Wotjobaluk Country in northwest Victoria. Inspired by Alan Murphy’s personal journey to reconnect with Country and discover his father’s birthplace, the project celebrates survival and resilience. In collaboration with Dylan Singh from The Dreaming project, it brings together mob to share stories through art of film, animation, and ceremony, honouring First Nations storytelling traditions and the strength of community, culture, and connection.
