Did you have a Party Line? Were you one of the many who listened in? Naughty! Remember making trunk calls through an operator?! Gillian Turner is exploring telephones and the local women who worked in the exchanges. Most of the devices they used are tech no dinosaurs, so different from today's mobile devices. This exhibition is the culmination of her research and collaboration with the Arapiles Historical Society, which led to a deep dive into their collection. Through interviews with local people and access to telephones as objects of curiosity, the exhibition celebrates changes in design and new expectations in the way we communicate.
